We recorded these dulcimers with the dulcimer stand and the microphone in the same place for each instrument. We also recorded sound coming from pickups when the instrument included one. For best results, listen on headphones or good speakers. There's nothing like hearing an instrument face-to-face, but we're hoping this page will give you a good idea of the sound differences coming from various woods and string lengths. Other than adjusting volume level, no other changes were made to the audio files.
